Flash

Canon Speedlites are electronic flash guns. They are used to take photographs when there is not enough light for normal photography – but can also improve your pictures in daylight.

Small dimensions and affordability

This exciting fresh addition to the EOS System combines small dimensions and affordability with an added dose of features and refinement. Improving on the predecessor, Speedlite 420EX, the new 430EX can now be set into manual flash mode (full power~1/64). Flash compensation can be controlled on the flash unit, and manual control of the flash zoom head is now possible. Improvements in its electronics make the recycle time 40% faster, and because it is compatible with Canon's wireless E-TTL, it can be used as an affordable "slave unit."
